In addition to Puerto Aventuras’ ocean dives, the area is also renowned for the many freshwater caverns that dot the Yucatan jungle! Scuba diving in the cenotes is easy from Puerto Aventuras, which boasts many of these spectacular caverns, and requires no special training other than being a certified scuba diving certification and having good buoyancy control.
Diving in the Puerto Aventuras area is excellent year-round, and particularly appreciated because of the abundant marine life, very good visibility and the unique possibility of diving the cenotes, a phenomenon unique to the Mayan people. With such excellent conditions, Dressel Divers’ centers in Puerto Aventuras are open seven days a week, 53 weeks a year.

- The 08:30 a.m. departure offers divers the option of doing a TWO-TANK DIVE or a SINGLE-TANK DIVE. Except on Wednesday and Friday where we do a more distant two-tank to Playa del Carmen without return to base in between the dives.
- Divers on the 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. departures can only do a SINGLE-TANK DIVE.
- Departure times and dive sites are very unlikely to change, but may be modified in specifics situation (strong currents, weather, etc.).
- Morning dives leave at 8:30 or 10:30 a.m (except wednesday and friday). and afternoon dives at 1:30 p.m. but please note that divers are asked to meet 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
- We offer a Two-tank trip on Wednesday and Friday morning. With a two-tank you make 2 dives in one boat trip to the best sites of Playa del Carmen.
- No need to plan your dive dates and times before arrival. Dives can be planned when you get there with our staff.
- We will always try to make sure you do not visit the same dive site more than once unless your specifically ask to do so.
- Most dive sites are approximately 10 minutes away by boat.
- All dives with Dressel are boat dives. There are no shore dives.
- We offer a twice weekly night dives based on a minimum of 4 persons signing up for the trip.
- Pool sessions for students are held in the morning and afternoon depending on the course module being completed.
- Students dives are in the morning at 8:30 a.m. and/or in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
